In a state of shock

Thank You God, for giving me my life back. I know you could take it that moment, I could have slipped and fall and faint and burnt to death. I am not exaggerating, this evening was the scariest moment of my life, even scarier than when I was in SQ plane shaking in a turbulence.

I stayed home alone this afternoon, as I was tired and I felt it was time to clean up the house and do some laundry. As I felt hungry, I thought I wanted to deep fry some nuggets, so I heat up the oil. I close the kitchen door as well as it was too windy.

The next thing I knew, there were noises outside my house, I thought Sis came back, so I went to check. When I passed by the kitchen, it was on FIRE! Seriously, it wasn't a candlelight flicker, it was blazing! I went in and tried to put out the fire. I remembered to turn off the gas, yet in panic state, couldn't remember where is the main switch. I took the still burning pan and toss it onto the washing basin, turned on the tap. My brain couldn't remember clearly if I could use water to put out the flame, so I risked it anyway. Though before that I was beating away the fire with clothes. It was the scariest moment when the fire burned fiercely, in red orange and blue. I was afraid to get electrocuted to death if the wires got burned somewhere. Then, I remembered to wet some clothes and cover the fire with it. The neighbour and the security guard knocked on my door, probably alerted by the smoke. They came in and extinguish the fire using its appropriate tool - fire extinguisher.

I couldn't remember how the rest went on, I wished silently that I could wake up and realise that this is just one helluva bad dream. Apparently, it isn't a dream. That fear as I was fighting that fire was definitely something I wouldn't be able to forget. Since I was a child, I have always played with fire, i loved to. Now I know, it's not that friendly after all. I had light burns on my right hand mostly and one deeper burn on my left eye. Ouchie, but that's ok, I am still alive...

The aftermath... Even the ceiling light melted...

What was supposed to be the smoke extractor, it is now just an empty shell.
